This Romanian Basic Course and covers the Elementary Phase. The technical terminology used is the one currently used at DLIWC and in the Instructor's Manual. The objectives pursued are to enable the student to a. discriminate all significant sounds (phonemes) as spoken by a native Romanian, b. produce the sound patterns of the native speaker as near to perfection as possible, c. comprehend the spoken and written language of this volume, d. engage in meaningful conversation and e. answer in writing to written questions within the vocabulary range and structure complex of this volume. The content of the text is in three parts: a. A brief phonology of the Romanian language, chiefly for the instructor.
