BJT Japanese Exam Preparation - Live Tutors Via Skype

Are you ready for the BJT exam?

BJT Exam

The Business Japanese Proficiency Test (BJT) measures the Japanese language communication skills required for business situations. These skills refer to the ability to clearly explain a situation in Japanese to people who come from a different background or field of expertise, the ability to promote a project, request clarification, and ask questions to other parties. In addition, this ability includes not only verbal communication skills, but the ability to understand and use Japanese with the aid of common business media like text, diagrams, photographs, emails, and to appropriately perform tasks suited to a business setting.

The duration of the test is 2 hours, and it consists of 80 questions. The results of the test are represented by a score of 0 - 800 points. In addition, there are six ranks (J5 to J1+), depending on the score, which are given as a measure of ability.

  • Are you confident in your current business Japanese vocabulary level?
  • Do you understand all of the Japanese grammar rules?
  • Are your listening and reading abilities at a high enough level for a business environment?
  • Do you understand the structure of the BJT exam?
  • Are you able to full understand written texts and write business documents in Japanese?
  • Can you confidently understand & communicate business related matters in Japanese?

If you answered 'no' to any of those questions, you may want to speak with one of Live Lingua's BJT tutors. The first trial BJT class is absolutely free. You can speak with the tutor to see if they think you are ready for the BJT test and they can propose a study plan for you. No credit card required, and no commitment.

The BJT is not simply a test for measuring Japanese or business knowledge. The test assumes a basic knowledge of Japanese and objectively measures the ability to process and respond appropriately to the provided information. For that reason, the questions cover the full range of situations which may arise in a Japanese-language business environment.

Knowledge of Japanese grammar and vocabulary and business practices is regarded as premise knowledge. Test content covers general, conversational and situational levels of comprehension.

"Life is about learning new things and having new experiences, and learning a new language is one of those things. I was stationed in Japan when I was in the army and started learning there, but when I got home to the US I could not find any way of continuing until a few months ago I saw a commercial for Live Lingua. I have class twice a week and can feel my Japanese returning."
