Ali Baba International Center is located in the heart of Amman; the beautiful capital of Jordan. The center has full accreditation form the Ministry of Education in Jordan to teach Arabic language to speakers of other languages. The center is also approved to grant US college credit to any eligible students through Brookhaven College in the USA. All courses are taught at Ali Baba International Center by experienced multilingual Jordanian teachers with solid teaching experience . The center offers immersion programs throughout the year. A typical program consist of a language courses, comfortable accommodation and rich extracurricular activities. The language courses are supplemented by cultural and social activities, and guided-tours to the major tourist attractions of Jordan. Participants in the programs will also be encouraged to meet and interact with people everywhere, immersing them in the every fabric of the Jordanian society , gaining for themselves an insider’s view of Jordanians
1. Group courses : 1-month standard courses
1-month group courses are organized throughout the year. In principle, a monthly course starts on the first Sunday of the month and ends on the last Thursday of the month. An outlined description of monthly courses is given below:
Number of Hours: A monthly course covers 80 contact hours of modern standard Arabic (MSA), which is equal to 4 credit hours in most credit-based universities. Students wishing to stay for a shorter period of time (1,2,3 weeks) may still apply for the monthly course, at a lower rate, and leave before its end date.
Levels: Three language levels are offered each month. The levels are: the beginners level, the intermediate level, and the advanced level. The three levels may get subdivided into sub-levels depending on number of enrolled students. The four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) are covered at varying degrees in each level. A student will have to sit for a placement test on the first day of the course to determine the class he or she should join.
2. Group courses : 2-month summer courses
Four 2-month summer courses are offered each year. An outlined description of term courses is below:
Number of Hours: A 2-month summer course covers 160 contact hours of modern standard Arabic (MSA), which could be equalized to 8 credit hours in most credit-based universities.
Levels: Three language levels are offered : the beginners level, the intermediate level, and the advanced level. The three levels may get subdivided into sub-levels depending on number of enrolled students. A student will have to sit for a placement test on the first day of the course to determine the class he or she should join.
3. Group courses : 3-month term courses
Four 3-month term courses are offered each year. An outlined description of term courses is below:
Number of Hours: A term course covers 240 contact hours modern standard Arabic (MSA), which could be equalized to 12 credit hours in most credit-based universities.
Levels: Three language levels are offered each month. The levels are: the beginners level, the intermediate level, and the advanced level. The three levels may get subdivided into sub-levels depending on number of enrolled students. A student will have to sit for a placement test on the first day of the course to determine the class he or she should join.
4. Private courses
Number of Hours: Determined by the students. A student may apply for as many hours as he/she needs.
Levels:. All levels. A private student will sit for a placement test to determine his or her level.
Courses: Course content will be decided by the instructor based on the language needs of the student.

1. Private Studios – Dormitories
Students of all ages have the option of staying at an all-males or all-females dorms located nearby the center. The dorms are modern, clean, secure, and located within a walking distance . A student at the dorm will have his/her own studio (bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette). Internet services are offered for free. Most people staying at the dorm are Jordanians, making the dorm a nice environment for cultural exchange. No meals are served, however, students can cook in their kitchenette or eat at restaurants located near the dorm.
2. Homestays for females
The center gives female students the chance to stay with local host families. A host family provides a bedroom, two meals, and of course, the cultural exchange experience.
3. Private Apartments
A private apartment has one or two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchenette, and sometimes, a small living room. Its usually designed for small families. Internet connectivity is not provided, however, students can buy cheap Internet USB sticks. No meals are served, however, the neighborhood has many restaurants.
Modern 3-star and 4-star hotels and located within a walking distance from Ali Baba International Center and the University of Jordan. The hotels offer rooms for single occupancy ( 1 person per room) or double occupancy (2 persons per room), fully air-conditioned and equipped with direct Dial-telephone and computer point, color television with more than 20 Satellite channels, and an in-room mini refrigerator. Students may also apply for 5-star hotels, however, such hotels are located around 10-minute drive from the school.
Ali Baba International Center offers different sets of extracullicular activities. We have a language-partner program, through which we introduce language students to local university students. This program is free of charge and gives foreign student the opportunity to socialize with local people and participate in the events taken place at the local community. We also organize discussion groups between foreign and local students to discuss different cultural issues in an informal and friendly setting. Weekend trips are arranged, depending on number of interested students, through which students get to know the different attractive locations in Jordan. Many other activities can arranged depending on number of participating students.
