International House Milan was founded as Centro Lingue Tradint in 1982 by Sieglinde Wolkan and Claudio Tedesco in San Donato Milanese, Milan.
In 1997 a second school was opened in Milan city centre, just a stone’s throw from the Duomo Cathedral and the school became affiliated to the International House World Organisation, the international organisation set up in 1953, renowned throughout the world for it’s high standards of quality and professionalism it expects from its affiliated language schools.
International House Milan organizes Italian courses for foreigners. International House is also an authorized examination centre for the CELI exam of the University for Foreigners, Perugia.
International House Milan is a member of the IHWO (International House World Organisation), with over 150 schools in 50 countries around the world. Only those schools which meet our rigorous quality standards are allowed to use the International House brand. We hope you will take the opportunity to come and experience for yourselves the high quality, professional service we offer.
Our Italian courses for foreigners include Individual lessons, Standard, Intensive and Super Intensive group courses from beginners to advanced level, evening courses and summer courses for Fashion&Design. Our summer course “Survival Italian for Beginners” is ideal if you want to learn the basics of Italian in a useful and fun way during a brief holiday in Milan. Among others we organize a language and culture course “Enjoy 50+”, “full immersion” courses and closed group courses.
The standard Italian for foreigners group course is the ideal solution if you want to improve your Italian quickly or if you want to begin studying it and be able to hold a conversation in Italian quickly.
This course runs every morning from Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 1:15pm (with a 15 minute break at 11:30am) for a total of twenty lessons a week.
The students work in small groups (between 4 and 10 students, generally 6-7) and this allows the teacher, albeit in a group course, to closely monitor each student, giving them the support they need and personalise the course based on their needs and personalities.
Our services include booking of accommodation, support in submitting applications for entry visas and a monthly social program which turns the city of Milan into an inherent part of the learning experience.
Milan is a lively, multicultural city. There is a wide variety of bars, theaters, restaurants, cinemas and art galleries and cultural events are organised every day. We believe that a program of social and cultural events is a must for all students.
International House Milan organizes a monthly social program so that students can learn and improve their Italian outside the school. The events are open to all students, of all levels, and can be booked at school.
The programs are planned to help you explore all the social and cultural aspects of the city, making studying even more effective but above all fun thanks to direct involvement in real situations where you can use what you have learnt.
Different activities are proposed every week – visits to museums, art galleries and theaters, ten pin bowling, karaoke or the cinema, walking tours of the city and wine and food tastings! – often linked to important events organised in the city such as the Fashion Week, the Salone del Mobile or the Crafts Fair.
Accommodation for full time students offered by International House Milan is carefully chosen and inspected regularly to check the quality. All accommodation is well connected to the school by underground, tram or bus. The average commute is around 25 minutes.
Accommodation is a very important aspect of the experience and for this reason it is important that it be chosen with care.
Accommodation is booked from the Sunday prior to the start of the course until the Saturday after it ends. Extra nights can be booked on request, paying a small surcharge.
