Iris grew up on the southernmost island on Earth: Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. At 16, wanting to see more of the world, she went on an exchange to the far north, to Norway. She jokes that she does nothing by halves. After that wonderful year, she knew exactly what she wanted to do: become a Spanish teacher.

Her main inspiration in her work is seeing how a language can open up a whole new world.

Right now, with the AI boom, she is excited about what is coming for the language world — she honestly thinks the field is going to benefit from it more than most.

Finding lost objects. Ever since she was a kid, whenever someone in her house misplaced something, she was the one they turned to. Give her a few minutes and she promises she will track it down.

All those classic childhood skills everyone else seems to have mastered. She cannot whistle, she cannot wink, and riding a bike hands-free is absolutely out of the question. If it requires basic physical coordination, count her out.
