Julieth is from Bogotá, Colombia. She holds an M.A. in Applied Linguistics of Spanish as a Foreign Language and a B.A. in Spanish and English, and she has been teaching languages for over 7 years.

Throughout her career she has taught students at all levels, led teaching teams and designed pedagogical programs. She describes herself as a dynamic, creative and curious teacher who loves finding new ways to make learning meaningful, practical and, most importantly, fun. She believes learning a language should be an experience where you can make mistakes, laugh, discover new things and actually enjoy the process.

She is inspired by people who are curious, creative and brave enough to see the world differently and share their perspectives with others.

One of her biggest inspirations is Paulo Freire, who saw education as a space for dialogue, creativity and connection. She believes education is a powerful tool for transforming society.

She is pretty good at building little models and figures, and has her own collection at home.

Beyond that, she is a very curious person who loves learning about all kinds of things, taking courses and researching topics that interest her — social leadership, human rights, and the ways we can contribute to positive change through small actions. Once she sets her mind to something, she is very dedicated.

She can be a little quiet and reserved at first, especially in new social situations, and she tends to spend a lot of time in her own head, thinking and overthinking things.

She admits she can be a little grumpy sometimes, but she is pretty self-aware and always works on finding a good balance and not taking herself, or everything, too seriously.

• She knows an unusual amount about animals, simply because she loves them.
• After high school she studied Environmental Engineering, and really enjoyed it, before discovering that her true passion was languages.
• She loves cats and has a small obsession with collecting cat-themed things.
• She learned to swim as an adult, and it became part of her routine.
