Valeria is from Lima, Peru. She began her teaching career in Peruvian schools, where she taught Spanish and literature to teenagers.

During the pandemic in 2020 she discovered the world of online teaching and absolutely loved it. It inspired her to become certified as a Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) teacher so she could help students around the world learn Spanish more effectively.

Since then she has taught adult learners from many different countries. She joined Live Lingua in 2024, and currently teaches group Spanish classes at the school.

She is inspired by the connections that language creates between people from different cultures.

Learning a language is about so much more than grammar rules and vocabulary — it is an opportunity to discover new perspectives, understand different ways of life, and see the world through someone else’s eyes. Being part of that journey is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for her.

Some of her hidden talents are planning budget-friendly travel itineraries and making cocktails. She loves finding great travel deals and creating detailed itineraries that make the most of every destination without breaking the bank.

She is not much of a cook, but she really enjoys mixing drinks and pretending she is a bartender whenever she has the chance.

Cooking and following recipes — she always seems to overthink the measurements. She is also not the best at math, so she and her calculator are a pretty inseparable team.
