Joanna is a Lawyer from Melbourne, Australia. Joanna has been teaching English since 2010. She has taught students from all walks of life and at all levels of language acquisition (eg. children, CEO's and industry experts). Her students come from various countries including Cambodia, Japan and Argentina as well as some countries in Africa and the Middle East. She and her partner are living in Baja California Sur, Mexico, where Joanna is teaching English to a number of professionals as well as editing some novels. In her spare time she designs and constructs furniture with her partner, takes photos, rollerblades, dances salsa and relaxes at the beach.

Joanna likes to keep her lessons interactive and fluid, allowing for as much conversation and discussion as possible. She includes current topics by looking at recent articles (a particular favorite is the Forbes website), podcasts, TED Talks and other youtube videos. In the case of beginners she teaches situational role plays and context specific vocabulary. For more advanced students she encourages open discussion and debate on topics that interest the student.
Joanna is a patient and flexible teacher, and tailors every lesson to suit the needs and desires of the student. She is sensitive and empathetic as she is also learning a second language - Spanish.
Joanna corrects her students during lessons and provides ongoing feedback. Where common mistakes are identified she will design future lessons in order to help the student improve in these areas. Her aim is to help her students gain confidence and expand vocabulary whilst correcting any evident issues with grammar and syntax.
Joanna is a qualified Lawyer. She also has a degree in Arts, majoring in Psychology minoring in Philosophy. Joanna is interested in behaviour and learning and likes to help people to achieve their goals.
