I am native speaker of Italian, with highly advanced English language skills due to living and working in the UK, the US and now Australia. I have many years' experience of teaching Italian, English, Spanish, French and Mandarin to students of all levels, age groups and backgrounds in various parts of the world, and so am well-placed to fulfil the criteria of this position. Furthermore, I have more than 10 years of experience in translating and interpreting among these different languages as well as teaching.
I have developed courses and textbooks for all levels of Italian and Chinese learners and have used different techniques depending on the experience and needs of my students, as well as assessing them. Furthermore, I have been an early adopter of integrating new technologies with language learning, in order to serve better the requirements of my students and improve their learning experience.
Indeed, new technologies and innovative methods are very important for my teaching. I provide my language learning experience through social media (mainly YouTube, Linkedin, Twitter and my blog) and my "Italian lessons" Music Album, in which I explain some Italian grammar rules over my musical compositions. Furthermore, in 2014 I published Eat, Listen, Love Italian, an interactive Italian language book. I teach many of my current private students online, using programs and apps such as Skype as well as these other online resources.
Language learning for people from different cultures and with different mother tongues is also something to which I am very attuned. My students have come from all over the world, from North to South America, Europe to Africa, and now in Oceania. My main language teaching experiences, beside Australia, where I live currently, have been in Moscow (Russia), where I taught in 2 language foundations and a primary/middle school, and Mali (West Africa) as a volunteer French and informatics teacher.
