Teaching style

Joanna is interested in behaviour and learning and likes to help people to achieve their goals.

Joanna likes to keep her lessons interactive and fluid, allowing for as much conversation and discussion as possible. She focuses on current topics by looking at recent new articles. In the case of beginners she teaches situational role plays and context specific vocabulary. For more advanced students she encourages open discussion and debate on topics that interest the student.

Joanna is a patient and flexible teacher who tailors lessons to suit the needs and desires of the student. She is sensitive and empathetic as she is also learning a second language, Spanish.

Joanna corrects her students during lessons (or at the end of each lesson) and provides ongoing feedback. Where common mistakes are identified she will design future lessons in order to help the student improve in these areas. Her aim is to help her students to gain confidence and expand vocabulary whilst correcting any exisiting issues.

"We signed up for a special package of English for our small business and have all of our staff taking classes with the teachers. We are half native English speakers, and the rest are from other countries. But we communicate in English. The Live Lingua English lessons have really helped the daily interaction in our company as may of our non-English speakers are now more confortable speaking in English." Mazoyer E. - Tourism Business

"The English lessons were great. I already spoke pretty advanced English, but I had trouble understanding my coworkers when they spoke quickly. I practiced for 6 months with three English teachers on Live Lingua and I can now understand everything, even when people are speaking fast." Jayesh P. - I.T.

"This is the best way to learn. I tried Rosseta Stone and other programs but never could speak. Live Lingua English is the best way to learn English." Devine L. - Music Producer

"[My English teacher] helped me prepare for 2 weeks for my BEC exam, and I got the score I needed to get a promotion in my business. They will be sending me to the U.K. to work in our offices there. Thank you!" Vlasily M. - Construction
